Chocolate Cake Recipe: 2 1/2 cups flour 2 cup sugar 1/2 cup dutch process cocoa 1 tsp baking soda (not baking powder as stated in video) 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup chocolate chips (optional for batter, melt and set aside) 1 cup coffee 1 cup buttermilk 1 cup vegetable oil 3 large eggs, room temperature 1) Sift flour, baking soda, salt, sugar and cocoa. Mix dry ingredients and set aside. 2) In a separate bowl, mix wet ingredients: coffee, vegetable oil, buttermilk and eggs. 3) Combine dry and wet ingredients and mix until well-incorporated. 4) Butter your baking pans (9 inch rounds) and line with parchment paper and pour batter evenly. Bake at 350 degrees for 22-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool and set aside. Chocolate Ganache: 12 ounces of semi-chocolate chips 6 ounces heavy cream Directions for chocolate ganache frosting: 1) Melt semi-chocolate and heavy cream in 30 seconds interval until smooth. Mine took 2 minutes. 2) Cover with saran wrap and make sure it touches the ganache so it doesn't form a skin. 3) Refrigerate and take out when your cakes are cooling so you can whip it in the stand mixer. If it's too loose, pop the frosting in the freezer for 10 minutes and re-whip. Frost and decorate as you like! Enjoy!!!!
